Bath Traps

The main point of a bath trap is to provide a water seal in a 'U' bend. The important aspect of any water traps is the depth of seal to keep any smells coming back through your waste. These will be available in a variety of different designs to suit your bathroom and to match any of your bathroom products.

Q. What is a bath trap?
A. A bath trap is a little piece that connects a bath waste (usually roll top) to your pipework.
Q. Why should I choose a bath trap?
A. Bath traps are ideal where you have a freestanding roll top bath as they connect onto your pipework and then onto the waste outlet on the bath, but are in a chrome finish so not only add to the traditional feel but also look much nicer than unsightly copper pipework!
Q. What style should I go for?
A. This will be based on your plumbers advice and the situation you are installing your bath into. There are two main types of trap , p shaped and s shaped which essentially will do the same job, s shaped wil connect directy from pipework coming out of the foor and then onto your trap, depending upon the distance between your pipework and waste. A p trap will usually need an additional section due to it's shape to connect it onto your pipework.
Q. Will I need anything else to go with my bath trap?
A. Always check the individual adverts as to what is included and your installer should be able to advise if anything else is needed. You will more than likely also require a bath waste which the trap will connect to.
Q. Are bath traps suitable for use in cloakroom bathrooms?
A. As a cloakroom bathroom would be too small to install a bath into, you would have no use for a bath trap either, so no.
