Electric Radiators

An electric radiator is a radiator, often a towel radiator or ladder rail that is heated using an electric element. In most cases the electric element will be supplied with the radiator however this is not always the case and your installer will need to advise you as to what you will need. These radiators come in a number of different styles and designs offering different heat outputs to suit your bathroom.

Q. What is an electric radiator?
A. Electric radiators are just as they sound, run using an electric element. Sometimes they can be used as a dual fuel radiator running from your central heating system as well as an electric element. Electric radiators are popular in modern minimalist bathrooms and cloakroom bathrooms in particluar.
Q. Why should I choose an electric radiator?
A. Electric radiators can be very versatile and suit most spaces. With the range of designs and sizes as well as different heat outputs there's sure to be one to suit your needs. Especially perfect for ensuites and bathrooms.
Q. What style should I go for?
A. There is no right and wrong and most of the electric radiators are modern, however you may find a few within the range that have a more traditional design. They will mostly feature a chrome finish, and are especially popular in a bathroom situation.
Q. Will I need anything else to go with my electric radiator?
A. You will need radiator valves to connect your pipe work into the radiator, if you want to use your radiator as a dual fuel option. See the technical drawings for the one that you want to buy, and check with your installer whether you would need straight or angled valves. As a general rule, if the radiators inlets are on the sides of the raditor and your pipework is coming out from the wall or up from the floor you will need angled valves. if the inlets are at the bottom of the radiator and your pipework is coming up from the floor you will need straight radiator valves, or if the pipe work is coming out from your wall you will need angled valves. Always check the adverts and technical carefully.
Q. Are electric radiators suitable for use in a cloakroom bathroom?
A. If you think that you may have enough space to accomodate a small electric radiator then yes these may be suitable for use in a cloakroom bathroom, but you will need to check the technical of the radiator carefully first to ensure you have the space etc to install this.
