Walk In Shower Enclosure

Walk in shower enclosures are available in a variety of different styles and designs with different amount of panels and sizes. Some of the enclosures will have a return panel to assist with keeping the water in the enclosure. These can often be hinged to allow you to move the panel for ease of cleaning. If you are planning on having an enclosure with 1 panel then the panel will more than likely be the full length of the shower tray however if you you have more than 1 panel then the front panel will be shorter than the tray to give and entrance. Some of these enclosures will come with a support arm however if you are unsure please check with us.

Q. What is a walk in shower enclosure?
A. A walk in shower enclosure will be made up of one or more wet room screens, with a gap as the entrance, rather than being fully enclosed. Hence the name, 'walk in'.
Q. What things should I consider before purchasing a walk in shower enclosure?
A. You will need to think about the space that you have available, your budget, how many panels you are hoping to have, and whether or not you want to have a tray. You will also need to bear in mind the placement and size of the shower head you will be installing, and whether you realistically have a large enough space to install a good sized walk in shower enclosure. Some of the smaller size enclosures will be more prone to water splashing out, which you will need to be aware of, there are something called return screens which are smaller panels that connect to a larger screen to help stop water splashing out of the enclosure. Sometimes these will be hinged to allow for re-positioning, sometimes these will be fixed.
Q. Why should I choose a walk in shower enclosure?
A. Walk in shower enclosures are perfect for large bathrooms with lots of space for an enclosure. They give a wonderful feeling of luxury, and can create a beautiful contemporary look. As you can choose the configuration you would like, there's much more freedom to create the enclosure that you want, and is best suited to the space you have. Walk in shower enclosures are not as well suited to smaller areas though, and although the screens and enclosures may be available in smaller sizes, these can cause issues such as excess water splash, especially with the larger shower heads, so you may not want to choose this kind of enclosure unless you have lots of space available.
Q. Will I need anything else to go with my walk in shower enclosure?
A. This will depend on the configuration that you are wanting. You may need additional panels, support arms and a tray. The advert should always tell you what items are included, if you are at all unsure it is always best to call us to confirm.
Q. Will a walk in shower enclosure be suitable for use in a cloakroom bathroom?
A. If the size bathroom that you have is classed as cloakroom, then this will not be big enough to accommodate a shower enclosure.
