Get help, with our bathroom accessories FAQ
Q. I want to buy new accessories for my bathroom what do I need to do first?
A. The first thing that you need to decide is what accessories you need or want in your bathroom. Then you can begin your search knowing exactly what you are looking for.
Q. Should I go for round accessories or square accessories?
A. The shape that you go for is completely up to you and personal preference. Generally speaking, most people will match their accessories to their other bathroom items such as basin and toilet, but there is no exact science and many people mix and match to add a touch of quirkiness to their bathroom.
Q. What design of accessories should I go for?
A. There are thousands of different kinds of accessories offering something different. Ranging from the ultra modern to traditional and classic. Accessories are usually the easiest things to buy for the bathroom and centre around the theme of your bathroom. This is generally where we'd recommend looking for inspiration. There's nothing to say that you can't have traditional accessories with a modern bathroom or even vice versa, but most people would not want to ruin their traditional or contemporary theme with mixing designs, however we are all different and the choice is completely personal preference.
Q. What materials can I choose from and which is the best?
A. Most accessories will contain different elements such as a metal and then glass or ceramic, depending on the type of accessory that you are purchasing. In terms of metal usually accessories tend to be brass or stainless steel, sometimes even plastic. Although a metal tends to be better than plastic this is often reflected in the price. Most accessories should be fairly hardwearing due to the area they are going to be being used in, brass with a chrome finish is generally considered a good combination to go for as brass cannot rust so this alleviates one issue, also chrome adheres extremely well to Brass so cuts down on peeling a great deal.
Q. Which install option should I go for, for my bathroom accessories?
A. This is not really applicable with bathroom accessories as it will depend on the type of accessory as to how it will be installed, there isn't really much choice when it comes to installation.
Q. I have a cloakroom/tiny bathroom what accessory style should I choose?
A. bathroom accessories will not really be limited even with a small space as they take up very little room. However, if you do have a smaller area at your disposal you may want to consider limiting the amount of accessories to essential items only to take up as little space as is possible.
Q. I don't have a big budget, is there still a good variety of accessories to choose from?
A. The great thing about bathroom accessories is that they are available at pretty much every level of budget. Even good quality brass ones needn't cost the earth, there is plenty of choice at reasonable prices. See the huge range for yourselves.
Q. What else will I need to go with my accessories?
A. Accessories do not really require anything additional, other than matching accessories if this is what you want!
Q. Can I find matching items to go with my accessories?
A. If you want other fixtures in your bathroom to match your accessories then you've come to the right place! Almost all of the products that we sell such as basins, are available in square, round, modern or traditional, just like the accessories.
Q. What is involved with maintaining my accessories correctly?
A. A lot of the answer for this will depend on the material of the item. Generally speaking nothing alt based or abrasive should be used on any materials. If the item is brass with a chrome finish then the best thing to use is white vinegar.
