Q. I want to buy a new tap for my kitchen what do I need to do first?
A. The first thing to do is to decide what style of tap you like, how many tap holes you need and the budget you are sticking to.
Q. Should I go for a round tap or a square tap?
A. This is all to do with personal preference and the design of the rest of your kitchen. If you have a round kitchen sink then you'll probably want a round tap. If you have a traditional Belfast style of sink and kitchen then you will probably want to choose a traditional style of tap!
Q. What design of tap should I go for?
A. This will partly be the design that you like and is going to go with the rest of your kitchen, and partly to do with the sink you have chosen. If the sink is one or two tap holes then the tap you choose will need to follow that, and then it will be down to choice traditional with traditional, contemporary with a sleek modern sink, round with round and square with square etc.
Q. What materials can I choose from and which is the best?
A. Generally there are few kinds of tap material and finish to choose from, such as brass and stainless steel. There is no necessarily better material, brass is usually considered to be one of the most hardwearing materials, but all of the taps that we sell are good quality so this decision will be more based on the taps that you like.
Q. Which install option should I go for, for my kitchen tap?
A. There aren't really any options to go for with kitchen sink taps other than deck mounted.
Q. I have a cloakroom/tiny kitchen what tap style should I choose?
A. It will need to be a tap that fits with the sink you have chosen, most kitchens will accommodate a standard tap providing that the projection is not to great, or the height and that it is not a large spray tap. Always refer to the adverts for sizing.
Q. I don't have a big budget, is there still a good variety of taps to choose from?
A. There are lots of taps by different manufacturer's at different price points, including those in the lower budget ranges. There are pro value ranges designed especially for the smaller budget but still offering great products. A small budget shouldn't stop you from still having an amazing tap that suits your kitchen and your pocket!
Q. What else will I need to go with my tap?
A. Some people like to purchase something called a tap brace which just adds a bit of stability, especially if you have a fairly heavy tap and a stainless steel sink. They aren't necessarily a requirement but may be something that your installer recommends or that you would like to purchase for added peace of mind.
Q. Can I find matching items to go with my kitchen tap?
A. You may find that the tap you are going for has a matching sink in the range, however most kitchen taps won't have matching items available.
Q. What is involved with maintaining my tap correctly?
A. A regular cleaning routine will help keep your tap in it's best shape. Never use anything abrasive on the tap when cleaning, for best care guides see the manufacturer's guidelines.
